Town Appoints Architect to the Zoning Board of Appeals

Selectmen appointed Anthony Paprocki to a full five-year term on the Swampscott ZBA.

The newest member of the Swampscott Zoning Board of Appeals is an architect who has volunteered in town on the Andrews Chapel restoration project.

Selectmen recently appointed Anthony Paprocki to a full five-year term on the ZBA. He will take the seat formerly held by Peter Spellios, whose term expired in 2013.

Paprocki is a licensed architect in Massachusetts and has worked for Perkins and Will in Boston the last eight years, according to a letter he sent the Swampscott Planning Office, expressing interest in joining the ZBA.

"A great deal of the issues I face professionally, and teach to my students revolve around the importance of good planning and smart development," he said in his letter to the Planning Office.

The architect has also been involved in the restoration of Andrews Chapel in the Swampscott Cemetery — volunteering with a small group working to develop drawings and secure funds for the interior restoration of this local landmark, he said in the letter.
