Neither the practice football field nor the half of the adjoining all-purpose field nor the Charlotte Road field in the far corner of Phillips Park will be ready for use this fall, the recreation director said.

Part of the agreement between the town and the movie makers called for the restoration of the Charlotte Road field.

Field availability is always tight, but in the wake of the town's contract with Grown Ups 2 to rent space at Phillips Park, the recreation director, the high school athletic director and youth sports officials have worked together to share space.

A key part of the plan calls for greater use of the Upper Jackson field at night.

The U14 youth soccer team will use the field as will the boys and girls high school teams, the director said. About 700 children participate in Swampscott youth soccer.

The recreation director said the town will make use of all available space including elementary school fields to meet the needs of the soccer leagues.

At Phillips Park, the field hockey team will play some of their games on their field and some on the football field, the director said.

Football will use the remaining half of the all-purpose field and Blocksidge Field.
