Selectmen to Talk Dog Park Locations on Monday

The board is also slated to talk about lawn signs and banners for town events and activities.

When the Board of Selectmen meets Monday, July 1, members will talk about dog park locations and signs and banners, said Chairman Jill Sullivan.
The meeting starts at 7 at Town Hall. It's on Monday, instead of Wednesday, due to the July 4 holiday.
When the board last met members scheduled a final meeting on the park's location with abutters and park supporters.
Abutters from Smith Lane and Sutton Pace raised objections to the proposed dog park location at Phillips Park, near the beach parking area, over reasons including noise and health.
Selectmen have committed to getting a park built and the town administrator has set a Sept. 1 goal for the park to open.
The park has been in the works and debated for some five years.
Selectmen are also slated to talk about the posting of lawn signs and banners to publicize town events and activities including the Swampscott Farmers' Market.
The market is held in the parking lot at Swampscott High School each Sunday from 10 am to 1 pm rain or shine.
