Selectmen to Talk About Temple and Greenwood in Exec. Session

The board meets at 7 pm on Wednesday at Town Hall.

 

Selectmen on Wednesday are scheduled to talk in closed session about the former school on Greenwood Avenue and the former Temple Israel, two town-owned properties. 

The board's chairman, Rich Malagrifa, said he expects the members will talk about the lawsuit challenging the Greenwood proposal.

As far as the temple property goes, he expects they will talk about the developer's amended proposal.

A zoning amendment that would have cleared the way for the development failed at town meeting in May. It was defeated after speakers raised concerns about there being too many properties on the land.

Selectman Jill Sullivan said on Monday that she expects selectmen will talk in open session about the temple proposal after their closed session ends.

Selectmen have extended the sales negotiations agreement the town has with the developer until April.

Charing Cross Realty Trust has proposed to buy the property from the town for $2.2 million and build 19 new homes on the site.
