Selectmen Sketch To-Do List for Harbor Panel

The selectmen's liaison to the Harbor Advisory Committee will bring boat rentals, concessions and other ideas to the panel when they meet next week.

Selectmen have sketched out a series of tasks they want the Harbor Advisory Committee to consider at Fisherman’s beach, among them boat rentals, adding a kayak rack and reducing the number of drains in lockers at the Fish House.

The selectmen’s liaison to the committee, Rich Malagrifa, will present the laundry list to the harbor panel when they next meet — June 15.

The projects come with no deadlines. They are ideas that the board would like to see the committee realize, if possible, selectmen said.

The work flow typically starts with a resident bringing a problem to selectmen, who, in turn, hand it over to the traffic group.

Town Administrator Andrew Maylor asked, rhetorically: shouldn't the questions originate here.

“Shouldn’t the process begin here then go to the (harbor) committee?” he said.
