Kane is a master of arts student at Tufts University, slated to earn his degree in 2012 in urban and environmental planning.

Earlier this fall Planning Board member Jeffrey Blonder reported that the three finalists for the town planner position were out of the picture for a variety of reasons.

Town Administrator Andrew Maylor said in an interview that the town would ask the Metropolitan Area Planning Council for help finding a planner.

Kane has experience in web design, research and project coordination.

He has worked on projects and studies for several Massachusetts municipalities including, Somerville, Watertown and Cambridge.

Last spring he was the sole researcher on a park usability study for Cambridge.

Selectmen are also scheduled to appoint Christine Raposa as the town's temporary parking clerk.

In addition, the panel is scheduled to take up the renewal of 17 liquor licenses.
