Selectmen Say Bye to Two Members

Chairman Rich Malagrifa and Vice Chairman Daviv Van Dam will soon leave the board as their three-year terms have ended.

Selectman Jill Sullivan lauded the departing chairman, and Selectman Glenn Kessler lauded the departing vice chairman.

And together, with member Barry Greenfield, they all said goodbye to Chairman Rich Malagrifa and Vice Chairman David Van Dam.

The chairman and vice chairman decided against seeking re-election and their seats will be occupied by new members after next week's election, on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Sullivan said she has enjoyed Malagrifa's humor, and appreciated his leadership and diligence, even researching board topics on the road while traveling in his postion as a Delta pilot.

Kessler read off a list of items that Van Dam has achieved in his tenure including acquiring funding for Swampscott, reaching out to town workers on ride-alongs with police and firefighters and reaching out to townspeople through hosting regular office hours at local establishments.

This is a practice Kessler will continue.

Both Malagrifa and Van Dam thanked their fellow board members and the town for giving them an opportunity to serve.
