Selectmen Accommodate Businesses With Monument Parking

The spaces will be open to 30-minute parking.

Selectmen on Wednesday approved five parking spaces along Monument Avenue at the side of Linscott Park to help four businesses in the new Gateway Building.

Representatives from the businesses across from King's Beach lobbied board members to open the spaces, their efforts spearheaded by Michelle Penney.

Michelle, the owner of Sea Glass Wine and Beer at 130 Humphrey St., told selectmen the parking was critical for the businesses' success.

The proposal had the support of the Traffic Study Committee.

The five spaces are open to 30-minute parking.

Sea Glass opened in late June.
