Terry Date is a loss. He did a yeoman's job, and treated the Patch like it was his family. And, he was a responsible reporter. There's no longer any reason to turn to the Patch. Why would a business advertise in a dead periodical?

I just spoke with Terry and wished him well. I first met him when he covered Sunday morning softball, and since that time I found him to be an honest broker of the news even if we disagreed on issues. I am skeptical about the Item; they don't even send a reporter to our BOS mtgs., and yet find the time to editorialize about our town. We can only hope that the Reporter (who I've heard) has hired a replacement for Katrina Powell, will work with reporter Neil Zolot to cover our town and give it the attention that we deserve. Good luck Terry wherever you land!
