Safe Schools Project Gets Underway July 8

Construction is slated to start Monday, July 8.


Town Administrator Tom Younger announced that construction is slated to start July 8, on a project to make it safer for bikers and walkers near Stanley School.

The Massachusetts Safe Routes to School Program construction will start July 8, with the installation of new sidewalks and crossings.

The project is to make it safer for students to walk and bike to school.

The program is being funded by a $450,000 federal grant, though the town is paying for easements that have not been donated.

The homeowners receiving payment qualified for between $450 and $990, the town director of Department of Public Works said earlier.
