Rep. Ehrlich Named to Women's Caucus Board

Rep. Lori Ehrlich looks forward to elevating the role of women in the Legislature.

Representative (D- Marblehead) has been named to the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Caucus of Women Legislators.

The Caucus of Women Legislators was formed in 1975 with a mission to enhance the economic status and equality of women, and to encourage and support women in all levels of government.

In its 36th year, the Caucus comprises 23.5 percent of the Legislature.

The 2011 bi-cameral and bi-partisan Caucus of Women Legislators is comprised of 36 members of the House and 11 members of the Senate. Representing districts from across the state, the women of the Legislature are as diverse in demographics as in their politics.

 Currently, 173 women have served in the Massachusetts Legislature compared to more than 20,000 men.

Rep. Ehrlich “welcomes the opportunity to elevate the role of women in the Legislature.

I hope through our example, women and girls will be encouraged to serve in government to bring positive change to our communities, state, and nation.”

Rep. Ehrlich also serves as Vice Chair, Joint Committee on Labor and Workforce Development and is a member of the Joint Committees on Financial Services, and Community Development and Small Businesses.

She is also a member of the House Committee on Bonding, Capital Expenditures and State Assets.
