New Swampscott Planning Group to Introduce Members

The Open Space and Recreation Plan Committee meets Tuesday at Town Hall at 6:30 p.m.

 

A new group that will look at the town's open space and plan to preserve and improve it will meet Tuesday.

 will, ultimately, establish a new plan to protect and enhance open space.

The plan will make Swampscott eligible for grants to maintain the space and create new ones.

The committee meets at 6:30 p.m. in the first-floor coference room at and will introduce its members — residents who have volunteered to sit on the panel — Toni Bandiowicz, Marc Barden, Angela Ippolito, Jim Olivetti and Mary Webster.

Agenda items also include an overview of town committee and open meeting laws and standards.

In addition, the panel will elect officers, schedule meetings and review the open space and recreation master plan from 1983 as well as notes from intended reviews in the 2000s.
