Hydrant Flushing Starts Tonight

The flushing is expected to last two to three weeks, with the work during the overnight hours.

 

The Swampscott Department of Public Works will start its hydrant flushing program tonight, Tuesday, June 4, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., the DPW reports.

There will be no interruption in water service, but customers may notice slight discoloration in their tap water, the department said. If this occurs, please run the cold water until it clears. 

The hydrant flushing program is expected to last two to three weeks. All of the work will be conducted between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
