2) Swampscott Scholars: Samuel B. Andler, a member of the Class of 2012, was named to the dean's list at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, for outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2011-12 year.

He is the son of Marc Andler of Swampscott, and is majoring in economics at Colby. He attended Swampscott High School.

Students whose grade point averages were 3.61 or higher were named to the Dean's List.

Founded in 1813, Colby College is the 12th-oldest independent liberal arts college in the nation.

3) Swampscott Athletics: Big Blue hockey plays Wayland's Warriors tonight in the first round of Division III North tournament.

4) Weather Watch: Snow. National Weather Service forecasters predict snow with a high temperature near 34. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
