Election Guide For Swampscott Voting on Tuesday

Check for polling places and times, absentee ballot information and a sample ballot.

The polls are open Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. for Election Day. Check Swampscott Patch throughout the day Tuesday for reports from each polling location and on voter turnout.

Swampscott Polling Locations

Precincts 1 & 2. Swampscott Senior Center, 200 Rear Essex St.

Precincts 3 & 4., Monument Ave.

Precincts 5 & 6. Swampscott Middle School, Forest Ave.

The Swampscott Town Clerk’s Office in Town Hall, 22 Monument Ave. have the Town & Special State Primary Election Absentee ballots.  The deadline is noon today, April 29.  You may vote Absentee ballot if your absent from the Town on Election Day, have a physical disability that prevents you from voting at your polling location or due to religious beliefs.

You can make your application and cast your vote in one visit to the Clerk’s Office or request the ballot be mailed to you.  If you wish to vote by mail, make certain the application arrives at the clerk’s office early.  Absentee Ballot application deadline is no later than NOON the day before the election (April 29th).  ***All 2013 Absentee voters must complete a new Absentee ballot application***

All Absentee ballots can be hand delivered by the voter, a family member or by an assisting person.  All Absentees must arrive in the Clerk’s Office no later than 8:00 PM on Election Day.

Absentee Ballot applications are available in the Clerk’s Office or can be downloaded at Secretary of the Commonwealth’s website www.sec.state.ma.us/ele/eleifv/howabs.htm.

2) Town and School Watch: The School Committee will meet in executive session Monday at 7 in the Middle School conference room.

3) Swampscott Sports:

Swampscott High sports action today at home: boys tennis vs Beverly; boys baseball vs Salem; and boys lacrosse vs Danvers. All the competitions are at 4 p.m. Tennis and baseball are played at the middle school athletic complex and lacrosse at Phillips Park.

4) Weather Watch: 

Mostly sunny, with a high near 62. Light south wind becoming southeast 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

5) Town Meeting Watch

Voting for town offices and the US Senate primary is Tuesday, April 30, while the warrant will be addressed at Town Meeting, May 6, 7:15 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
