Burrill Street Pot Dispensary Idea Withdrawn

The proponent has backed off his proposal to put a medical marijuana dispensary at 205 Burrill St.

The owner of 205 Burrill Street has backed off a proposed medical marijuana dispensary at the location, according to Town Manager Thomas Younger.

Before applying to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health for a dispensary at the Burrill location, the owner, Julius Sokol, would have needed a letter of support, or at least a letter of non-opposition, from the town of Swampscott.

On Wednesday selectmen were scheduled to discuss the medical marijuana dispensary idea. That item has been removed from the agenda.
