The Swampscott Animal Control Officer will be conducting compliance checks and issuing fines at all beaches with a concentration on Fisherman’s / Blaney Beach.

Bacterial Testing of Town Beaches has Started.

Last week the Swampscott Health Department began weekly beach testing of the Town’s six public beaches.

If a beach is closed a sign will be posted at the main entrance of the beach advising beachgoers to “swim at their own risk due to elevated bacteria levels.”

During the summer you can view the beach testing results for all of the state’s beaches on the Mass. Dept of Public Health website www.mass.gov/dph/.

Due to storm water run-off, swimming is not recommended within 24 hours after heavy rains.
