You Asked: Will the New Police Station Be Prone to Flooding?

See the police chief's answer to our latest Patch question.


Several readers have asked if the new police station at 531 Humphrey St. is prone to flooding.

Others, in their comments, have said it should have been built elsewhere due to possible flooding.

We recently posed these questions to Police Chief Ron Madigan, who was also a member of the Police Station Building Committee.

The police chief said he is confident that the new station is protected from flooding. The station was built on a slab — with no basement — and its elevation was raised. 

In addition an extensive drainage system was installed at the property, he said.
