Vehicles Keyed and Swimmer in Distress

The following information came from the Swampscott Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, Aug. 28

  • 7:30 a.m., caller reported a gas can was wedged under the train bridge. Police recovered the empty gas can.
  • 1:35 p.m., a woman fell at Stop & Shop and was transported to the hospital.
  • 2:59 p.m., police received a report that a 15-year-old girl was verbally accosted on Banks Road.
  • 4:52 p.m., a parking problem was identified at Woodbine and Sutton Place. Five motor vehicles were given tickets.
  • 7:18 p.m., police received a report that a restraining order violation took place at the Red Rock Bistro.
  • 7:27 p.m., police and fire responded to a report that a swimmer was in distress about 100 yards out on Kings Beach near the town line.
Thursday, Aug. 29
  • 11:13 a.m., two females were verbally assaulting another female on Paradise Road due to a miscommunication over a boy. The parties were advised and calmed down.
  • 11:42 a.m., a woman in a wheelchair said she was unable to pass on the sidewalk by the construction site at Rock Avenue and Burrill Street because construciton equipment was in the sidewalk.  Crews will move the tiems so the person can get by.
  • 12:51 p.m., a man was reportedly passed out on the train platform.
  • 1:59 p.m., a person reported drugs were sold on Banks Road. The caller provided no address.
  • 3:28 p.m., police received a report of two stray Labrador retrievers in the neighborhood at Kensington Lane and Lewis Road.
  • 4:03 p.m., a caller reported that fencing on the sidewalk at Rock and Burrill was making it impassable for a person in a wheelchair. Crews moved the fencing.
  • 4:15 p.m., an off-duty police officer reported a man was down in the street at Essex Street and the Mall Access Road.
  • 4:44 p.m., police received a report that several motor vehicles were keyed at Elm Place.
  • 5:40 p.m., a Eureka Avenue mom reported her son, 18, was out of control and she wanted him removed. The son was transported to the hospital.
