Intruder in Pine Street Residence

Swampscott police provided the following information. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Jan. 16

At 2:58 p.m., police arrested a 50-year-old Swampscott man for being a fugitive from justice on a court warrant for fraud by check, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, operating an uninsured vehicle and operating an unregistered vehicle.

Incidents

Thursday, Jan. 12

At 1:56 p.m., a 911 caller reported to police that a tree limb had broken free on Mountain Avenue, ripped down a power line and fallen on a motor vehicle. Police notified the fire department and National Grid. 

At 3:30 p.m., police received a report of a tree limb falling at Thomas Road and Burrill Street, and debris from the limb striking a motor vehicle parked under the tree. 

Friday, Jan. 13

At 9:24 a.m., police received a report of a possible breaking and entering at Willow Terrace. It turned out that the incident was weather/wind related.

At 2:15 p.m., police received a report of a traffic light being down on Burrill Street. Police notified the state Department of Public Works. 

At 4:13 p.m., police received a report of a tree limb falling on Salem Street. 

At 8:07 p.m., police received a report of yelling and screaming on Humphrey Street. The caller told the arriving officer that the loud people had left before police arrived.

Saturday, Jan. 14

At 1:57 a.m., an elderly female fell and broke her leg at an Atlantic Avenue address. She was transported to the hospital by ambulance.  

At 7:11 p.m., a caller notified police of a loose dog on Sutton Place. A resident was holding the dog. An animal control officer was notified.

Sunday, Jan. 15

At 1:31 a.m., police received a report of an underage drinking party on Nason Road.

At 2 a.m., police received a report of a drunk pedestrian on Humphrey Street.

At 3:31 p.m., police received a report of a breaking and entering to a motor vehicle on Smith Lane.

Monday, Jan. 16

At 1:11 p.m., a resident reported an earlier breaking and entering attempt at an Essex Street residence. 

At 4:11 p.m., a caller reported an earlier breaking and entering to a motor vehicle on Galloupes Point Road.

At 4:51 p.m., a Littles Point Road resident asked for help with water in the basement. The fire department was notified.

Tuesday, Jan. 17

At 12:08 p.m., police received a report from a Pine Street resident who came home and found a person inside the apartment. The intruder was a woman, perhaps in her mid-30s, wearing a black wool hat, black jacket and sunglasses. The person fled on foot down Superior Street toward Lynn.

At 3:34 p.m., police reported vandalism at the middle school.
