Here are excerpts from calls for service in the most recent Swampscott police log, from Feb. 2 to Feb. 7.

Wednesday, Feb. 2

  • 4:00 a.m. — Police responded to an alarm at a Paradise Road address. The location was secure.
  • 10:05 a.m. — Police received a report of a hit and run accident on Blaney Circle. A vehicle was struck, apparently by a plow, while it was in a driveway overnight.
  • 3:16 p.m. — Police received a report about an incident of larceny — the unauthorized use of a bank card. The report came from a Doherty Circle residence.
  • 5:40 p.m. — Police received a 911 call about a child with a high fever and uncontrollable nose bleed. The child was transported to a Salem hospital.
  • 9:39 p.m. — Police received a report of a tenant dispute at Curry Circle. The officer reported that roommates were having a disagreement and the dispute was settled.

Thursday, Feb. 3

  • 3:27 a.m. — Police conducted a park and walk detail on Cherry Court. The area was secure.
  • 7:12 a.m. — An officer was sent on a service call, at the request of the school resource officer, to assist a parent and her son.
  • 8:48 a.m. — A Curry Circle caller reported to police that his landlord might move his items out of the residence. The officer spoke with the landlord and he said he would not touch the tenant’s belongings.
  • 1:53 p.m. — A caller from a Sherwood Road residence reported that she had struck a parked vehicle in the Vinnin Square parking lot.
  • 5:50 p.m. — A Curry Circle tenant reported that his landlord threatened to remove his property from the apartment. The police officer was unable to make contact with the tenant or the landlord, but a roommate told police that he did believe the tenant’s belongings would end up dumped on the sidewalk because he left without giving notice.
  • 8:13 p.m. — A new resident on Walker Road reported that the electricity was shut off at the residence and National Grid refused to put utilities back on even with children in the cold. Police called National Grid and they were referred to customer service.

Friday, Feb. 4

  • 7:46 a.m. — A Humphrey Street caller reported a minor accident. The officer assisted the motorists with the exchange of information.
  • 8:13 a.m. — A Galloupes Point Road caller reported a vehicle was parked on the street blocking the roadway.
  • 10:11 a.m. — An officer attempted to serve court papers to a Pine Street resident. The resident was not home.
  • 3:05 p.m. — The DPW reported that a private contractor was dumping snow in a parking lot behind Kids Cove.
  • 5:40 p.m. — A caller reported that a man pushed a woman into a snowbank, yelled at her and walked away. The caller reported that the woman crossed Paradise Road crying. 

Saturday, Feb. 5

  • 1:20 a.m. — A CVS worker reported youth were wrestling in the Paradise Road store, and one of them appeared to be unconscious. Police stopped the car that the youth were in and discovered they were minors in possession of alcohol. A summons was issued.
  • 1:26 a.m. — A caller reported hearing possible gunshots fired in the Kids Cove area. The officer checked the area, but there was nothing showing.
  • 4:36 p.m. — An officer responded to a dispute between roommates on Curry Circle. The officer assisted in the retrieval of property. Only a portion of the property was retrieved because the other roommate refused to open the door to the residence.
  • 6:45 p.m. — Police reported receiving a call from a man at work who said that his roommate had called and threatened him.
  • 9:35 p.m. — Police received a call from a Curry Circle woman seeking an emergency restraining order against her ex-roommate.

Sunday, Feb. 6

  • 1:06 a.m. — A police officer conducted a park and walk detail on Curry Circle. The area was checked.
  • 2:20 a.m. — Lynn police requested mutual aid for a large fight.
  • 7:16 a.m. — Police notified DPW about icy conditions in various locations.
  • 1:13 p.m. — Police received a report of a hit and run accident on Essex Street.
  • 4:56 p.m. — A caller reported that a car ran out of gas on Foster Road. AAA was requested, police reported.
  • 8:37 p.m. — An elderly person on Stanley Street passed out and was transported to Salem Hospital.

Monday, Feb. 7

  • 2:11 a.m. — A Puritan Road caller reported that the door bell at the residence was constantly ringing. Police checked the area, but found nothing.
  • 8:16 a.m. — A caller reported a minor motor vehicle accident on Paradise Road.
  • 9:36 a.m. — Building management at a Paradise Road location reported a strong odor of marijuana from an apartment. The officer confirmed the smell and knocked on the door of the apartment, but no one answered it.
  • 1:56 p.m. — A police officer conducted a park and walk detail on Paradise Road. 
  • 4:29 p.m. — An employee at a Paradise Road business reported being threatened by a customer.
  • 5:18 p.m. — A party called to report a man punching motor vehicles on Essex Street. Police reported that it was an impatient customer trying to get gas.
