Threat Reportedly Issued Against Teacher

The following information came from the Swampscott Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Oct. 28

  • 8:52 a.m., a smoldering fire was reported in the woods behind the high school by the Girl Scouts lodge.
  • 12:52 p.m., prowlers reported on Burpee Road.
  • 1:09 p.m., a Littles Point Lane person reported being harassed by a former landlord.
  • 2:27 p.m., threats were reportedly made against a high school teacher. No further information was available.
  • 2:49 p.m., a family member from Willow Terrace came to the police station to report possible elder abuse.
  • 3:05 p.m., a suspicious person was reportedly walking around the neighborhood in the area of Reid Terrace. Police checked the area. Nothing was showing.
  • 10:35 p.m., a Kensington Lane caller reported her dog was barking, and she thought it might indicate a prowler was in the area.
Tuesday, Oct. 29
  • 9:12 a.m., police ticketed a vehicle on Columbia Avenue.
  • 11:27 a.m., a man called from Essex Street and said his estranged wife had ransacked his house and she was no longer there.
  • 11:33 a.m., an Alvin Road woman reported that someone banged on her door but no one was there when she went to the door.
  • 1:17 p.m., an Essex Street woman called and reported the possible past larceny of property from her home.
  • 2:18 p.m., a caller reported an altercation in the Unitarian Church parking lot on Forest Avenue. It involved a man with a dog. Police went to Puritan Road to locate the man involved in the altercation. 
  • 7:48 p.m., police stood by at an Essex Street home while a woman with a restraining order came by to get some of her property. The plaintiff had agreed to allow the woman to get the items.
