Swampscott Woman Allegedly Strikes Woman Over Car Keys

The suspect is due back in court early next month to answer domestic assault and battery charges.

 

A Swampscott woman became irate and lashed out at another woman after she refused to let her borrow a car.

Christine Curley, 31, 9 Brooks Terrace, is charged with domestic assault and battery for an incident at about 9:30 a.m. April 17 at her home address, police said.

The victim told police that she refused Curley's request to borrow her car and the woman became very angry.

"She stated that Christine swung at her with an open hand striking her in the face," the court report states. "She was then pushed by Christine. This caused her to grab Christine at which time both fell to the floor."

Christine was transported to the Station without incident. She was given her Miranda rights, booked, photographed and fingerprinted before being transported to court.

Christine was released on bail and told to return to court for a pretrial hearing on May 9.
