Swampscott Woman Tells Police Babysitter Stole Cash

The following is an excerpt from the Swampscott Police Department's log: 

Thursday, March 20

  • At 6:49 a.m., police responded to an alarm on Burpee Road.
  • At 7:56 a.m., police responded to a parking complaint on Shaw Road.
  • At 10:20 a.m., a resident entered the police station to report a past larceny. The woman told police her babysitter admitted to stealing cash from her and agreed to return it later in the day. The woman said she just wanted the incident in the log.
  • At 10:30 a.m., police responded to a medical emergency on Humphrey Street.
  • At 1:42 p.m., police responded to a report of a loose dog near the intersection of Ellis and Paradise roads.
  • At 3:04 p.m., police responded to a medical emergency on Humphrey Street.
  • At 8:25 p.m., police responded to a report of an erratic operator on Atlantic Avenue.
  • At 10:42 p.m., police were notified that a cat had been struck on Nason Road.

Friday, March 21

  • At 1:56 a.m., police conducted a building check on Forest Avenue.
