Swampscott Man Charged With OUI and Witness Intimidation

The following information came from the Swampscott Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Dec. 3

3:15 am, report of a 19-year-old with a knee infection who passed out on Shaw Road. Emergency medical personnel were notified.

8:33 am, one car was ticketed and two were moved at the Train Depot.

9:08 am, the owner of Tony Lena's came to the station to report a possible scam.

10:48 a.m., the Fire Department helped a resident get into a Humphrey Street resident. The person was locked out.

1:41 pm, follow-up investigation at a Humphrey Street residence.

5:54 pm, a caller reported a man who was stumbling on the sidewalk in front of Stop & Shop.

Wednesday, Dec. 4


4:40 pm, a past larceny was reported on Barnstable Street.

7:02 pm, police received a report of stolen bank information. The report came from a person on Fairview Avenue.

7:41 pm, a caller reported a motor vehicle accident on Humphrey Street near Cindy's Superette. Police charged Steven Strogoff, 47, 12 Estabrook Road, Swampscott with OUI liquor, drinking alcohol from an open container and witness intimidation.

Thursday, Dec. 5

4:25 am, a man fell on Monument Avenue and was transported to Salem Hospital.

2:56 pm, annoying phone calls reported on Paradise Road.

6:04 pm, unresponsive diabetic man reported on Paradise Road. He was transported to Salem Hospital.

7 pm, a male caller reported being robbed of his shoes and bag at the Swampscott High track. The call was disconnected. The caller was not there when police responded.

10:40 p.m., a caller reported a man looking in the windows of residences near the China Green. The caller said the man was possibly intoxicated and may have driven a white car to the Train Depot. No one matching the description given was located at the Depot.

Friday, Dec. 6

2:52 am, police charged Michael Galante, 28, 215 Western Ave., Lynn with larceny under $250.
