Swampscott Generosity Once Again Abounds for TLC

Another successful year for TLC. Courtesy

Here is a photo of one of the many donations that Swampscott businesses and individuals made this year to the Toys for Local Children program.

In this photos Swampscott police Office Mike Frayler stands with toys donated by Swampscott Stop and Shop.

TLC is one of those local traditions organized and sustained each year by many groups in town.

Whether it is the Swampscott Police Association, the Swampscott Public Library or Cathy Kalpin and her band of school kids and school employees, the town comes together to spread good feeling for kids who might not otherwise receive holiday gifts.

Businesses including Stop and Shop, Whole Foods Market and Sagan Realty are among those who contributed to TLC.

TLC was started in 1984 by teacher Allen Shapiro who wanted to make sure no local child went without a gift.
