Swampscott and Lynn Police Solve House Breaks

Stolen items recovered from Beach Avenue include sports jerseys.

 

announced today that a joint effort with Lynn detectives led to the arrest of a Lynn man for receiving stolen property.

Michael Linnane, 44, was charged with receiving property stolen from a house break on Beach Avenue in Swampscott, Nov. 16.

Police recovered items stolen from the home when they carried out a search warrant at 18 Crescent St. in Lynn, said Swampscott police Det. Tim Cassidy.

Earlier, Lynn police Sgt. Edward Nardone identified Linnane when looking at images of the suspect using a credit card that had been stolen in the Beach Avenue break-in.

In the photo, Linnane was in a Lynn store and wearing a Patriots jacket stolen from the home, police said.

While executing the search police also recovered items stolen from thefts at a home in Lynn.

In September, Swampscott police urged homeowners and car owners to safeguard their properties in light of a rash of breaking and enterings.

Residents are encouraged to callif they see something suspicious in their neighborhood.
