Smash and Grab on Morton Hill

The following is an excerpt from the latest logs.

Wednesday, July 25

  • At 12:13 a.m., police responded to 15 Morton Hill Ave. after three men smashed a window, grabbed items and ran down Morton Hill into Lynn. 
  • At 8:22 a.m., a Windsor Avenue resident reported a car was broken into overnight. 
  • At 5:08 p.m., an off-duty police officer reported a possible phone scam. A party was soliciting contributions for AMVETS Swampscott Post 459. When the officer asked questions the caller hung up. 
  • At 6:08 p.m., a group of youth at the Fish House were causing a disturbance, using foul language. Police spoke to the youth. 
  • At 9:45 p.m., police received a report of teenagers ringing the doorbell and setting off a house alarm on Longwood Drive. Three youth have been doing this the past several days.
  • At 11:53 p.m., police received a report of an assault victim from Marblehead at the CVS, located on Paradise Road.

Thursday, July 26

  • At 6:49 a.m., police received a report of larceny of two motor scooters on Essex Street. 
  • At 1:50 p.m., a party turned in firearms to the police station.

Friday, July 27

  • At 1:08 p.m., a Pleasant Street resident reported that her house had been broken into several hours earlier, about 10 pm, but she did not call then because she was afraid the person who broke in might still be in the house.
