Slew of Swampscott Car Break-Ins
The following information came from the Swampscott Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.
Monday, Jan. 27
6:51 a.m., police received a report that a vehicle was entered on Ocean Avenue. No property was reported missing.
7:40 a.m., police received a report that a motor vehicle was entered overnight on Lincoln Circle. Nothing appeared to have been taken.
8:20 a.m., a caller on Phillips Avenue reported that her motor vehicle was broken into overnight. It was unknown if anything was taken.
9:24 a.m., a Hawthorne Road resident reported that a motor vehicle was broken into overnight.
10:39 a.m., a Phillips Avenue resident reported a motor vehicle was broken into overnight. Cash was missing.
11 a.m., a Windsor Avenue caller reported metal was stolen from the neighborhood.
4:06 p.m., a motorist was issued a speding ticket on Atlantic Avenue for going more than 50 mph in a 30-mph zone.
4:29 p.m., police received a report of an erratic operator, possibly drunk, who just left Stop & Shop, turning left on Essex Street. The vehicle was all over the road. The motoris was gone upon police's arrival.
6:01 p.m., a caller reported a hit and run at Paradise Road and Walker Road. The vehicle fled on Paradise Road towards Salem.
6:02 p.m., police received a report that an iPod was stolen from a motor vehicle on Ocean Avenue.
