Several Overnight Car Break-ins Reported

The following are excerpts from the Swampscott Police Department's log:

Wednesday, July 7

A resident at a Thomas Road address reported their vehicle was broken into overnight at 7:51 a.m.

A vehicle was stuck on the rocks at Cardillo Terrace and Glen Road at 8:34 a.m. The vehicle was removed.

Two vehicles were ticketed in a residential parking only area on Columbia Street at 9:03 a.m.

A hit-and-run crash occurred in front of the library on Burrill Street. A parked vehicle had its mirror struck with damage over $1,000 in value at 9:58 a.m.

An Elmwood Road resident reported at 10:55 a.m. that their vehicle was broken into overnight.

Somebody came in to the police station at 11:13 a.m. and reported that their vehicle had been broken into overnight. The faceplate on a Panasonic stereo was taken.

Two vehicles were ticketed at 1:03 p.m. after someone reported that vehicles were parked under no parking signs on Cedar Hill Terrace near Humphrey Street.

A porch fire was reported at a Shepard Avenue address at 4:30 p.m.

A man called police at 4:38 p.m. to say that he threw a small bag of trash in a town trash can at the beach on Charles Road and another man who was angry confronted him. The angry man removed the trash from the barrel and put it on the other man’s car. The angry man was driving a black SUV, police were told.

A lost or stolen wallet was reported at a Burpee Road address.

A past break-in to a vehicle was reported at a Hardy Road address at 10:32 p.m.

A cell phone was found on Eisman’s Beach off Puritan Road at 10:33 p.m.

An open vehicle door was found at an Elmwood Road address at 12:24 a.m.

Two youths were checked at a Humphrey Street address at 12:40 a.m.

A couple people were found to have a fire going on Phillips Beach off Ocean Avenue during a park and walk patrol at 1:36 a.m. They did not have any alcohol.

A Hemenway Road resident complained at 2:31 a.m. that a dog at a Priscilla Road address had been barking for the past hour. An officer found that the dog was inside and there was no answer to a knock at the door.
