A Salem man faces criminal charges for allegedly exposing himself to a woman in the parking lot outside Marshalls store on Saturday afternoon.

Police charged Ramon Almanzar, 25, of 13 Cherry St., Salem with open and gross lewdness.

About 3:24 p.m. Saturday, Swampscott police received a report from the victim, who had just exited the store.

Swampscott Police Officer Steve Luck reported that "a Hispanic looking male party operating a red Ford Explorer pulled up next to her and said, 'Excuse me,'" according to Swampscott Det. Tim Cassidy.

"The female victim thought the male party may need directions so she turned toward the vehicle, and when she did the male party said, 'Have you seen my penis?'"

The victim reported that the man had his penis in his hand. The man then drove toward Salem and the victim noted his license plate.

Salem Police Chief Paul Tucker stopped the suspect's vehicle as it was nearing Cherry Street.
