Rolex Robber Wishes Landlord a Good Day

The robbery took place at Four Seasons Motor Group around 12:30 p.m. Friday.

The landlord unknowingly exchanged pleasantries with a man who, only moments ago, had robbed one of the landlord's tenants.

The robber is described as being in his twenties, white, with blond hair, about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. He robbed a Rolex watch from the victim at Four Seasons Motor Group , a car dealership on Humphrey Street, said Swampscott police Det. Tim Cassidy.

Landlord Charlie Patsios was arriving at his property when he bumped into the robber. Only the landlord had no idea what had just transpired in an upstairs office at his property.

"He robbed the guy, went down the steps — I didn't know that — walked by and said, 'Have a good day,' and walked out the door," the landlord said. "And I didn't know that had just happened."

At some point earlier, the robber had posed on Craigslist as someone interested in buying the Rolex. Arrangements were made to meet at the business, located near Fisherman's Beach.

But the "buyer" turned out to be a robber and pulled a gun on the victim.

The man fled on foot towards Cedar Hill Terrace, police said. The robbery report came in to Swampscott Police about 12:30 p.m. Friday.

This was Swampscott's third armed robbery in less than a week.

On Saturday, Aug. 3, a man robbed Olympia Sports at the Swampscott Mall, 450 Paradise Road. And on Wednesday, Aug. 7, a man robbed The Gap, also at the Swampscott Mall.
