Overnight Auto Break-In Spree

Swampscott police provided the following information. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

 

Incidents

Tuesday, Jan. 17

At 4:03 p.m., a employee reported that a customer left the store with merchandise without paying for it.  

Wednesday, Jan. 18

At 12:40 a.m., a caller reported that a motorist hit a tree in front of a residence at 25 Tupelo Road. Police placed the driver under arrest and reported that he was being transported to Union Hospital. Calvin Freeman was arrested (see below.)

At 4:28 a.m., police received a report of a break-in to a motor vehicle on Crosman Ave. 

At 4:47 a.m., a police officer reported that a motor vehicle on Crosman Avenue appeared to have been broken into. The owner confirmed this. 

At 6:33 a.m., a caller reported a motor vehicle had been broken into on Lawrence Road. 

At 10:05 a.m., a caller reported a breaking and entering to a motor vehicle on Beach Bluff Avenue. 

At 1:13 p.m., a Salem Street resident reported that her motor vehicle had been broken into overnight.

Arrests

Tuesday, Jan. 17

At 4:17 p.m., police arrested Tiffany Lynn McCaffery, 22, homeless. They arrested her at 413 Paradise Road, charging her with shoplifting by concealing merchandise and three counts of possession of a Class E substance. 

At 5:02 p.m., police arrested Richard Lovering, 40, of 474 Revere Beach Boulevard, Revere. They arrested him at 413 Paradise Road, charging him with shoplifting by concealing merchandise and disorderly conduct. 

Wednesday. Jan. 18

At 4:24 a.m., police arrested Calvin Freeman, 26, of 85 Newhall St., Apt. 2, Lynn. They arrested him on Tupelo Road, charging him with OUI liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license subsequent offense, and speeding.
