Porch Package Thefts Mount

The following information came from the Swampscott Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Sept. 27

  • 10:47 a.m., a caller reported a loose golden retriever on Humphrey Street.
  • 10:56 a.m., a Puritan Avenue caller reported that she had locked herself out of the house. The Fire Department helped out, entering through the side window.
  • 1:53 p.m., police received a report of shoplifting at Joseph A. Banks on Paradise Road.
  • 2:32 p.m., a Greenwood Avenue resident reported the theft of a package from her front porch.
  • 3:05 p.m., a person came to the police station and reported the theft of his wallet.
  • 3:17 p.m., a person reported an incident of larceny and that the suspect was in the Fish House Lot.
  • 4:28 p.m., a Pine Hill Road resident reported that a package to an unknown party has been inher driveway all day.
  • 7:21 p.m., police received a report of UPS packages stolenbeing stolen from a Pleasant Street porch.
  • 8:18 p.m., police received a report of a delivered package being stolen from a Brown Road porch.
