Police Urge Caution Responding to Door-to-Door Sales

Driveway paving offers pitched door to door should signal caution with homeowners.

Over the past several days we have had multiple reports of individuals going door to door soliciting business for driveway paving.

These individuals will knock on your door and state they have extra asphalt from a job they are doing in the neighborhood.

In the past they have asked for money up front and never did the work. Today, two individuals were stopped by officers and their information was obtained.

 They were going door to door in the Paradise Road area. Yesterday, they were in the Essex Street area, and over the past weekend they were in the Hillside Avenue area.

 All door-to-door solicitors must register with the police department and residents are encouraged to call us if they feel a solicitor is not legitimate.
