Police Summons Juvenile After Tagging Spree

The youth tagged at least 10 places around town, police said.

 

Todd Flannery got an unpleasant surprise when he went back to his Columbia Street office Tuesday night.

The new sign he had put up three weeks earlier outside his business, Flannery's Handymen, was tagged in black spray paint.

"It looks like a nose," he said of the scrawl.

He tried wiping it off but the marks are permanent and he's ordering a replacement.

The tagger apparently hit a number of other sites in town including homes, the train station and an abuttment near the closed gas station on Paradise Road by .

Swampscott police have issued a summons to a juvenile for tagging, said Swampscott police Det. Tim Cassidy.

The juvenile tagged at least 10 places around town, police said.
