Police Search For Prowlers Fleeing on Burpee Road

Salem police responded with a K-9.

Police converged on Burpee Road midday Monday in response to a report of a burglary in progress.

The incident was later determined to be prowling, according to the Swampscott police log for Oct. 28.

The report, a call from a nearby home, was of a person chasing two young males — teens or in their early 20s.

One of them was wearing jeans and a hoodie; and the other wearing jeans and a brown sweatshirt. They were both about 6 feet tall with brownish hair.

Salem police responded with a K-9.

Police searched the area. The suspects were not located.

Police said earlier this week that several break-ins have taken place in town of late including incidents on Puritan Road, Cherry Street, Pine Street, Essex Street and Franklin Avenue.
