Homeowner Calls Police on Contractor Seeking Payment

Monday, July 30

  • At 8:04 a.m., a caller reported an accident at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Humphrey Street. The accident's damage appeared to be greater than $1,000.
  • At 8:11 a.m., a Pine Street resident reported items missing from the home's front porch.
  • At 1:26 p.m., a homeowner requested that a police officer go to their home on Oakledge Road and remove from the property a subcontractor who was demanding payment for a service call. The homeowner said his children were the only ones at the home and they were nervous since the party would not leave when asked to do so. Police responded to the address and the party had left.
  • At 2:57 p.m., police made an arrest after a motor vehicle stop at Essex Street and Stetson Avenue.
  • At 3:52 p.m., a Dale Street resident reproted a case of indentification theft and that a police officer document it in a report.
  • At 5:14 p.m., a Smith Lane caller reported that she had received a phone call in which the person on the other end asked for information about her bank account.
  • At 7:44 p.m., police received a report of teenagers sitting on a bench near the fish house and possibly smoking marijuana.
  • At 8:46 p.m.. police received a report of a loud youth outside a Eureka Avenue address.

Tuesday, July 31

  • At 3:55 a.m., police received a report of a loud truck and a worker loading equipment on it on Humphrey Street. The party was gone upon the arrival of police.
  • At 6:11 a.m., a caller from the Atlantic Avenue and Atlantic Road area reported a contractor using a jackhammer in the area. The report was unfounded.
