Police Investigating Report of Older Male Calling Child to Truck

The incident took place about 3 p.m. on Salem Street.

 

Swampscott police received a report that about 3 p.m. today a child was approached by a white man in his 50s, who tried to get the child to come to his truck.

The incident took place on Salem Street, said Swampscott police Sgt. Tim Cassidy.

The man was described as having white hair and driving a small, green, older-model, two-door pickup truck.

No contact was made with the child, according to scanner reports.

The incident was broadcast as a "be on the lookout" report to area police departments.
