Police Charge Alleged Pocketbook Thief

The following is an excerpt from the Swampscott Police logs. Where charges are mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, March 20

  • At 12:14 p.m., police received a report of shoplifting at Marshalls — two pocketbooks. A vehicle with a suspect in it was last seen on Paradise Road. The vehicle was stopped on Kenwood Terrace. Police charged Philip Drago, 53, of 145 Stevens St., Revere, with larceny over $250. 
  • At 12:42 p.m., a police officer met with staff at 21 Elm Place over an incident that was reported. 
  • At 1:16 p.m., police filed a report related to a threat at the high school. 
  • At 1:18 p.m., police filed a report related to a suspicious person by the Clarke School. 
  • At 1:56 p.m., a mother asked if an officer could speak to her out-of-control child. An officer serviced the call at a Paradise Road residence.
