Panicked Walker and Hydrant Gushing Water

The following is an excerpt from the Swampscott Police Department's log:

Thursday, June 13:

  • At 6:54 a.m., police received a report from the MBTA about an unruly passenger. They requested that the passenger be removed from the inbound to Boston train.
  • At 7:39 a.m., police received a report of a past motor vehicle breaking and entering on Glen Road.
  • At 7:50 a.m., police received a report that a man had fallen and hit his head across from the Hawthorne by the Sea on Humphrey Street. He was gone upon police's arrival.
  • At 10:22 a.m., a Verizon technician asked police to contact a customer on Puritan Road so that a repair could be made.
  • At 11:01 a.m. the landlord for a Roy Street property asked police to stand by and keep the peace while a repair was made to the property.
  • At 2:38 p.m., a caller said someone was throwing things around at Stop & Shop.
  • At 2:39 p.m., a man who has been sick the past two days at a Bar Link residence was transported to Salem Hospital.
  • At 3:31 p.m., a parked motor vehicle was hit at Cedar Hill Terrace and Humphrey Street.

  • At 1:49 a.m., a walker on Phillips Avenue reported being lost and asked for help from police. Police located the walker at Brown Road and Atlantic Avenue. Fire units determined the walker was having a panic or anxiety attack and called for a transport to Salem Hospital. 
  • At 5:08 a.m., water was gushing from a hydrant on Shelton Street. The Department of Public Works responded to the scene.
