Neighbor Reports Offensive Sign in Neighbor's Window

The following information came from the Swampscott Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Dec. 17

1:19 p.m., police reported slick roads. DPW notified.

1:39 p.m., cars were reportedly sliding on Greenwood Avenue and Humphrey Street. The streets needed sand.

2:21 p.m., a Redington Street man fell in his driveway and needed help getting to his feet. He did not want an ambulance.

2:50 p.m., a person came to the police station and reported their motor vehicle was struck while it was parked in front of the library.

3:19 p.m., a resident on Ryan Place reported that a neighbor has an offensive sign in the window facing the reporting person's residence. Police are filing a report on the incident, categorized as suspicious.


6:30 p.m., a 6-year-old child on Elwin Street was transported to North Shore Medical Center for an allergic reaction.

6:38 p.m., cars were removed from Ellis Road.

6:41 p.m., DPW requested that vehicles be towed from Puritan Road and Woodbine Avenue for the violation of the town snow ban.

7:15 p.m., a 9-month-old child on Essex Street was transported to North Shore Medical Center for an allergic reaction.

8:08 p.m., an Essex Street father reported that his 16-year-old may have run away.

10:51 p.m., a motor vehicle that was impeding snow removal at Andrew Road and Paradise Road was towed.

Wednesday, Dec. 18

9:23 a.m., a caller reported that a man on Walker Road was shoveling snow into the street.

9:53 a.m., a man was stopped for a red light violation at Essex Street and the Mall Access Road. Police charged Faustino Lopez, 34, of 20 Lynnfield St., Lynn with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stop/yield.

12:26 p.m., a hit-and-run incident, overnight, was reported on Humphrey Street.

2:09 p.m., a motor vehicle left Walker Road, hit a snowbank and then a tree. The operator was transported to Salem Hospital for an evaluation.

2:36 p.m., an Essex Street caller reported that a juvenile who was reported as missing earlier has returned home. A warrant of apprehension was issued for the juvenile by the Essex County Juvenile Court.

6:18 p.m., a Paradise Road store reported discovering that an employee had stolen thousands of dollars by crediting his personal credit card.
