Needles Found on the Beach and a Barking Dog

The following information came from the Swampscott Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, July 24

  • At 7:32 a.m., police received a report of a barking dog on Beach Avenue. The caller said it was an ongoing problem.
  • At 8:59 a.m., police received a report of a car parked on the sidewalk on Highland Street and Rockland Street.
  • At 10:55 a.m., two hypodermic needles were found at Phillips Beach.
  • At 11:48 a.m., a pharmacist at CVS reported a larceny of prescription medication.
  • At 12:18 p.m., police charged Robert Furtick, 53, of Lynn with larceny under $250, drug possession, resisting arrest ad disorderly conduct.
  • At 12:24 p.m., an Edgehill Road person came to the police station to report she felt she was being videotaped.
  • At 2:05 p.m., police received a call about a road rage incident. The caller was oat an Atlantic Avenue location.
  • At 3:03 p.m., police received a report that youth jumping from the pier were almost struck by a boat.
  • At 8:31 p.m., police received a report of a parked car on Hillside Avenue being hit in a hit and run incident.
