A Lynn man charged with driving with a blood-alcohol level twice the legal limit was arraigned in Lynn District Court on Monday.
Hector Rodriguez, 48, of 10 Albany St., was released on personal recognizance bail after being charged with OUI, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and marked lane violations.
Swampscott police pulled over Rodriguez on Paradise Road near Shaw Road on Saturday shortly before 11 p.m.
The officer had noticed the tail lights were out on the 2012 Toyota Corolla and that it was swerving over the road's double yellow lines.
After failing a series of field sobriety tests, Rodriguez submitted to a breathalyzer and registered a blood-alcohol reading of .178, which is more than twice the legal limit.
He was transported to the Swampscott Police Station and, after the station's breatalyzer failed to operate, to the Lynn Police Station.
Rodriguez registered a .16 blood-alcohol reading on a breathalyzer at the Lynn station.
He will return to court for his pretrial hearing on Jan 14.
