More Motor Vehicle Break-ins Reported

The following is an excerpt from the Swampscott Police logs. Where charges are mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, March 28

  • At 11:15 a.m., police received a report of a past breaking and entering to a motor vehicle outside the Game Stop at 450 Paradise Road.
  • At 1:04 p.m., police received a report from DPW about a missing headstone at the Swampscott Cemetery. An officer learned that the headstone was missing because it was having work done to it.  
  • At 3:20 p.m., police received a report about a past incident at an address in the 100-block of Essex Street.
  • At 5:36 p.m., a boyfriend reported that he received a frantic text from his girlfriend's daughter, saying she heard something downstairs in the Stanley Road home and it sounded like someone was trying to break into the house. Police responded to and serviced the call.
  • At 6:55 p.m., an Atlantic Avenue person reported that her motor vehicle was broken into and a GPS was stolen. The person did not want to file a report but wanted to make police aware of the incident. 

 Friday, March 29

  • At 2:29 a.m., Marblehead police asked Swampscott to be on the lookout on Humphrey Street for a driver who left the scene of an accident in their town.
  • At 7:41 p.m., police received a report of a group of youth offering people alcohol near the baseball diamond.
  • At 9:03 p.m., possible underage party reported on Worcester Street.
