Massachusetts Man Reports Squirrel Attack

Now there's something you don't hear every day.

A Swampscott man found himself in an unusual situation Tuesday night and called police for help when a local squirrel went on the offensive.

As detailed in tonight's police log, at 7:55 p.m., a Magnolia Road man called police to report that he needed "help right away, a squirrel is attacking him."

The man told police he was stuck outside and trying to fend off the angry rodent with a broom.

The dispatcher reportedly advised the man to get inside if he could do so safely.

The local animal control officer was notified and the squirrel was later trapped in a box at a nearby house.

No word on who was brave enough to open it.

Have you ever heard of a squirrel attacking someone?
