Marblehead Party-Goers Charged With Assaulting Police

Swampscott, Salem and State Police helped Marblehead officers at the scene of an early morning party on Green Street. A third person was later charged by police with assault, as well.

A Green Street party spun out of control early Sunday leading to multiple arrests and charges as police from Swampscott, Salem and state police responded to help Marblehead officers restore order.

Lisa Mkusa-Lane, 39, 118 Green St. Apt. #B, Marblehead was charged with two counts of assault and battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, disturbing the peace and threatening to commit a crime, the police log incident entry states.

Josue Francois, 24, 600 Boston St., Lynn, was charged with two counts of assault and battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and threatening to commit a crime, the log states.

Yolanda R. Charles, 31, 100 Henry Ave., Lynn was charged with three counts of assault on a police officer, a count of unlawful wiretapping and failure to disclose a wiretap, the report states.

The incident unfolded at 3:25 a.m. Sunday with a caller reporting what sounded like a serious argument at 118 Green St.

Marblehead police responded and reported that things were quieting down.

But a second caller subsequently reported that the party was continuing, the log states.

Marblehead units at the scene requested additional officers. A Marblehead officer was sprayed and requested water, the log states.

Officers from Swampscott and Salem police responded to Green Street.

State police responded, as well.

Later, back at the Marblehead Police Station, two people came into the lobby to leave money for Mkusa-Lane and asked to speak with the officer in command.

One of the individuals was argumentative and was asked to leave multiple times, police said.

Yolanda Charles continued to argue and was audiotaping and videotaping the discussion in the lobby, the log states.

Charles was taken into custody and charged.

The log also states that a prisoner was taken to Salem Hospital and that a nurse was assaulted.
