Man Charged With Attempted Murder

The alleged domestic incident took place in a Cherry Street apartment late Tuesday night.

 

A 28-year-old Lynn man was ordered held without bail Wednesday pending a dangerousness hearing after his arrest on a charge of attempted murder.

Swampscott police arrested Edwin Coriano-Cardona, 14 Border St., Lynn on Tuesday night.

The alleged domestic incident took place at 27 Cherry St., Apt. 13.

Coriano-Cardona was arraigned the next day in Lynn District Court. He is scheduled for a hearing later this week to determine whether he should be held until the date of the trial.

Police were called to the Cherry Street apartment at 9:43 p.m. Tuesday, according to a police log entry. Police noted the incident took place in apartment 13 but the alleged victim had removed to her mother's apartment upon their arrival.

Emergency medical services were called to the scene but the victim refused care.

The suspect was also charged with assault and battery domestic, and arrested on a warrant.

The warrant charges are witness intimidation, assault and battery domestic, malicious destruction of property of more than $250 in value and wanton destruction of property of more than $250 in value.

Court records documenting the incident's particulars were unavailable as of late Wednesday.
