Loud Screams and a Possible Case of Heat Stroke

The following information came from the Swampscott Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, July 18

  • At 7:39 a.m., the fire department was notified about a possible case of heat stroke at the railroad depot. A patient was transported to Salem Hospital. 
  • At 9:10 a.m., a child with a possible shoulder injury was transported from Elm Place to Beverly Hospital.
  • At 12:06 p.m., police responded to a report of a duckling in the roadway on Farragut Road.
  • At 12:43 a.m., a minor car accident took place in the parking lot at Whole Foods Market.
  • At 12:51 p.m., a person came in to the station and reported that a check was stolen from his parent’s Salem Street residence and the check was cashed in Salem.
  • At 1:03 p.m., a person reported that a bike was stolen and another one was left in its place on Norfolk Avenue.
  • At 3:57 p.m., a tree limb was reportedly down on Priscilla Road. 
  • At 8:48 p.m., a resident reported hearing loud screams in the area of Burrill Street and Ellis Terrace.
