Juvenile Bicycle Thief Caught, Bike Returned

Friday, July 11

A couple people taking a walk on Atlantic Avenue were checked at 1:17 a.m.

A driver reported seeing an injured turkey in the road on Humphrey Street near the Marblehead town line at 6:07 a.m. An officer checked the area and did not locate the turkey.

Am ambulance and the Fire Department were dispatched to Puritan Road for a minor car crash involving a pedestrian at 9:11 a.m.

A hit-and-run crash occurred in the Starbucks parking lot on Paradise Road at 9:34 p.m. Nobody was injured and a witness had suspect information.

An arrest was made after the report of a man assaulting a woman at a Little’s Point Road address at 9:37 a.m. Scott Murphy, 52, of 29 Little’s Point Road was charged with assault and battery on the disabled or a person over 60 and domestic assault and battery when a restraining order was in effect.

Suspicious youths were reportedly looking into vehicle near Norfolk Avenue and Stetson Avenue at 9:44 a.m.

A person was checked at Chipotle Mexican Grill on Paradise Road at 10:07 a.m.

A well-being check was conducted at a Franklin Avenue address at 10:18 a.m. It was reported that the female resident had not been seen since Sunday and the mail was stacking up.

A detail officer was approached by a female at 10:40 a.m. reporting that she was pushing a carriage and she could not pass on the Puritan Road sidewalk between the Fish House and Lincoln House Point.

An investigation was conducted at an Orchard Road address at 10:51 a.m.

An Eastman Avenue resident called police at 11:05 a.m. to say that he felt the blasting in the area was “too large.”

An investigation was conducted at a Rockyledge Road address.

A domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported near Benevento Insurance on Humphrey Street at 2:16 p.m. Police checked the area and found it was only a verbal dispute and everyone involved was given their rights to get a restraining order.

A crash occurred in the Stop and Shop parking lot on the Essex Street side at 4:28 p.m.

A Burrill Street resident asked police at 5:02 p.m. if there was a way to park her black Acura on the street without causing a problem for pedestrians. Arrangements were made to get the vehicle moved.

Somebody reported a suspicious vehicle parked on Allen Road near Humphrey Street at 5:11 p.m. The caller said that it was a dark-colored vehicle, possibly a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and it was in poor condition and damaged, meaning it may have been stolen and dumped there. It turned out that the driver of the vehicle was visiting an Allen Avenue resident.

A bicycle was stolen at Stop and Shop on Paradise Road at 5:38 p.m.

A car crash on Humphrey Street at the Lynn city line at 6:11 p.m. was minor with no injuries. An ambulance responded and it was actually on a state road so the State Police in Revere were notified.

A follow-up investigation was conducted at Stop and Shop on Paradise Road at 6:24 p.m. to get additional information.

A juvenile will be issued a summons for allegedly stealing a bicycle at Stop and Shop. The bicycle was returned to an Orchard Circle address at 8:30 p.m.

A well-being check was conducted at a New Ocean Street apartment at 11:18 p.m. The caller said his girlfriend was in front of the apartment and there was a John in the apartment. Police found the man was making unfounded accusations and he was sent on his way.
